The Huguenot Church in Charleston has a plaque dedicated to Isaac Mayzck born at St. Martin on Ile de Re 11 June 1661, died

7 Mar 1755. His eldest son, Isaac MAZYCK was born in Charleston 6 Mar 176?, died 25 Jul 1770.

 

The name MAZYCK originated in Belgium in the town of Maeseyck (Maaseik). Paul Mazyck was born in Maeseyck in 1608, about 1640, he moved to Maastrich Belgium, then possibly to Leige, then to LaRochelle France, then to St. Martin de Re where he died 16 April 1670. His son Isaac was born 11 June 1661 at St. Martin de Re and came to Carolina in Dec 1686. Source Carol Mazyck Smith cmazycks@aol.com
