Notes for Robert Lee Sr. MORRIS


Funeral services for Robert Lee Morris, Sr., 80, of 523 Calhoun St., who died Saturday at a hospital here, will be
conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the graveside in Mount Tabor cemetery by the Rev. E. E. Huffman. Active
pallbearers will be M. C. Hays, Harold Dawkins, B. T. Browder, Jimmie Burton, J. K. Neee and J. R. Rubin. Active
pallbearers will meet at 3 o'clock at the residence and honorary at 4 o'clock at the cemetery. Mr. Morris was a retired
carpenter and had lived in Columbia for the past 17 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Axson of
Columbia and Mrs. Thelma Rubin of Lexington; three sons, Robert L. Morris, Jr., Jack A. Morris and David L. Morris, all
of Martinez, Ga.; two brothers, Douglas Morris of Lake City and Butler Morris of Scranton; two sisters, Mrs. Allie
McElveen and Mrs. Lizzie Floyd, both of Turbeville; 18 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body will
remain at Thompson Funeral Home until time of the services.
