Moores were one of the first families in South Carolina, but other Moore's joined them from various origins. The Moore family in my line were founders of the Moore's Crossroads. Sarah Ann Mahaley MOORE founded the Pergamos Church located near Lake City, SC. The land for the church was donated by Mahala's father, (my GGG Grandfather) Robert Abraham MOORE in 1831. A well known descendant of Robert Abraham MOORE is Darla MOORE (USC Darla Moore School of Business).
