Also 1860 Census Murry's Ferry District. Charles Cook says that Jesse, brother, and sister Peggy came from Ireland to Virginia, then SC (brother went to Texas)? was McCook.

E. R. Cook enlisted in the Civil War 26 FEB 1862 - Battery Island Company On 26 APR 1865, he was among the 25th S.C. Infantry that surrendered to Sherman near Greensboro, N.C. where he died.
